100% Wood
Asian hardwood is also known as Parawood, Rubberwood, and Hevea Brasiliensis. It is an Eco-Friendly wood, native to the Amazon region of South America. They are typically grown on tree plantations for 25-30 years and when one is taken down, another is planted in its place. Somewhere in the 19th century their seeds were brought to England and those seedlings brought to Malaysia hence the name Asian Hardwood.

Properties of Rubberwood:

• Density(kg/M3 at 16%MC --------------- 560-640

• Tangential Shrinkage Coefficient (%)--------1.2

• Radical Shrinkage Coefficient (%) -----------0.8

• Hardness(N) -------------------------------- 4,350

• Static Bending, N/mm at 12% MC ------------ 66

• Modulus of elasticity, n/mm at 12%MC -- 9,700

There is virtually no waste. Other trees are cut down for the sole purpose of manufacturing wood products.

Rubberwood is also one of the more durable lumbers used today. It is strong, flexible, and is resistant to fungus, bacteria and mold.

Asian Hardwood is in the Maple family but similar to Oak. Like Maple, it produces sap. The sap made by these trees produce latex, which is the main source of rubber. Hence the name Rubberwood. It produces sap, meanwhile helping the environment for about 30 years. Only after the end of its long and productive life, is it taken down for its wood.
